Roger Wade is the Fredericksburg elementary school principal who had a tradition of tickling children and giving them nickels in the school. Another teacher, Janet Ebner, reported this, being worried of possible pedophilia.
Robert is later let go by the school when Holden doesn't vouch for Roger's future behaviours and implies him being a pedophile when the boarding commitee consults him. His wife confronts Ford and accuses of ruining their livelihood.
